In different places in different parts of the world, 20 dancers created and performed the work #10duets10days.
#10duets10days creates a framework for a new concept where the art experience takes place digitally through social media. Inspired by the time we live in where our physical relationships are translated into digital spaces, our possibility of closeness is limited.
After a long period of pandemic and social distancing, #10duets10days focuses on closeness. An instant composition is put together, as the two dancers in the same room receive unknown instructions in their headsets. The instructions are not equal, but choreographed so that the two dancers get a strong emotional and physical relationship. The dancers didn’t know which instructions that they were going to receive in advance, which led to a raw, personal and fragile expression in the live performances.
The digital medium makes it possible to create a relationship with an audience that is not used to experiencing contemporary dance. Despite the digital distance, the audience gets a sense of live performance – here and now.
